Toronto, ON, Canada, Oct 27th, 2006 – Rodan Energy and Metering Solutions Inc. was recognized by Peter Love, Ontario’s Chief Energy Conservation Officer, at a recent presentation to the Toronto Board of Trade focusing on issues facing Ontario’s Electricity System. Mr. Love’s address highlighted the growing importance of conservation and demand management programs in Ontario’s Power Supply Mix.
In a speech to Board members, Peter Love applauded the efforts of Rodan in securing system reliability in Northern York Region through the York Region Demand Response Program. “Rodan Energy’s program enables commercial and industrial energy customers to quickly curtail their consumption during periods when the electricity system is constrained and demand is peaking” said Love. “Demand management is already helping Ontario take a big step back from the precipice of system failure. And it will also deliver substantial monetary savings to every consumer in the province. “
Love’s address outlined the strategic approach of the Ontario Power Authority to increase the proportion of Conservation & Demand Management in Ontario’s Power Supply to 6300 MW by 2025. Proposed initiatives include energy efficiency projects, demand response programs, self or cogeneration projects and fuel switching.
“Rodan is pleased to be able deliver the York Demand Response Program to energy consumers affected in the area,” commented Paul Grod, President of Rodan Energy. “With the increasing importance of energy demand management and growing concern around system reliability in Ontario, Rodan is committed to working with large energy consumers to ensure the viable implementation of demand management.”
